You know how they say “time is money”?

Well that’s bullshit, time isn’t money. Time is time, and it’s worth a hell of a lot more than money.

If you’re undercharging for your time, you’re making a huge mistake.

Think about it for a second with me,

In your life, can you get more money?

Of course you can!

You can get a job, or sell some old stuff, or start an online business, or find change on the street.

There’s lots of money in this world to go around and you can collect a lot of it if you know how.

But can you get more time?

Hell, it sounds cliche, but you don’t even know how much time you have left.

Your time on this planet is one of the most valuable things you possess.

And it is limited.

It’s a shame that most people waste so much of it.

But not you

You are well on your way to living the life you’ve always dreamed of. You’ve probably already started to make money online. You might even be thinking of starting your own online business.

You’re not wasting your time. Are you?

Come to think of it, how much did you charge for the last logo you designed, or the last photo you sold? Are you accurately reflecting the amount of time you devote to each project in the prices you charge?

If you’re new to this game, it can be easy to charge for the end product, instead of charging for the process of producing it.

When you sell your work,

You’re not just selling the words, or the design, or the ideas you share. You’re charging for the research, the experience, the creativity and all the other little things that make you better than the competition.

The time you invest and the expertise you possess are both valuable and affect the cost of your work.

Remember, you’re a creative professional and your content is unique. You’re not a robot who spits out the same shit as the next.

So when you’re offered a freelance project for a rate lower than what you charge, turn it down.

Politely explain to them why your rate is higher than what they’re offering. Highlight your skills, experience, and commitment to your craft. All things they won’t get from the guy charging dirtbag rates.

If you want to make money online, you’ve got to know your value, and ask for it.

What’s the worst that can happen?

So maybe you lose a client or two. Maybe you turn down a shitty job that wouldn’t have paid well.

Rather than spend your weekend doing web design for pocket change, you can spend that time applying to better projects, like your own online business.

Hell, maybe you even get a bit of free time to logout of Fiverr and do something you love. Or you could take that extra time to check out the other content on The Big Picture Academy and bolster your skills.

But you’d be surprised how many clients are willing to pay a bit more for quality work. If you only find one and work hard, more will follow.

Change the way you think of time

This is the biggest step you can make towards developing a wealth mindset and a successful future.

You have to stop thinking of time as something you trade for money. You’re no longer a wage worker. You don’t make money by the hour.

Instead, you make money by the sale, by the project, and by the commission. Your income is not earned with your time, it’s earned with your production.

You create value for your customers and clients, and that value is worth money, independent of time.

If you master this way of thinking, you’ll start to find more and more time for yourself. You will start to earn better rates for your work.

Most importantly, though, you’ll start to have more money than time and you won’t have to worry about either one ever again.
